Scope:

Office 365: Office 365 is available in the variants E1, E3 and E5. All three include the classic Office apps such as Outlook and Excel as well as Exchange, OneDrive and SharePoint. E1 only includes web apps, while E3 and E5 also include the desktop versions.

Office 2024: Office 2024 contains the classic desktop programmes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and Access. Cloud functions such as OneDrive are not included, but can be integrated. You can use it completely offline as you wish

Function updates:

Office 365: users regularly receive new features, improvements and security updates. The platform is continuously being developed.

Office 2024: There are no major feature updates after purchase. During the five years of mainstream support, there are regular security updates and bug fixes. The purchase version therefore deliberately focuses on a stable set of functions without constant changes.

Use on multiple devices:

Office 365: The E3, E5 packages, for example, allow simultaneous use on up to 5 PCs or Macs, 5 tablets and 5 smartphones per user – ideal for flexible work across multiple devices.

Office 2024: The licences are usually tied to one device. If you want to install Office on another computer, an additional licence is required

Online storage:

Office 365: Each licence includes at least 1 TB of OneDrive storage (E3/E5: expandable up to 5 TB or more). Data can be easily synchronised and shared across devices.

Office 2024: No online storage included, but can be used separately via a Microsoft account
