Several platform improvements, such as the reduction of the image size of Windows containers, lead among other things to a 30% faster start-up time and better overall performance.
As usual with Windows Server Standard, you can again operate two virtual machines per fully licensed server. Virtualisations under Linux are also supported.
The licensing model is again core-based, as has been customary since Microsoft Windows Server 2016. The following rules apply:
1. Each physical processor must be licensed with at least 8 cores.
2. Each physical server must be licensed with at least 16 cores.
