STAHLMARKT: "PIONEER WORK IN THE SECOND-HAND SOFTWARE TRADE – INTERVIEW WITH USEDSOFT'S CEO PETER SCHNEIDER"

In its first edition of 2006, under the section "Der besondere Tip" (The special tip), the reputed branch magazine "Stahlmarkt" presents the possibility of making significant savings through "used" licences when purchasing software. In an interview, usedSoft's CEO explained that especially large and mid-sized companies, as well as public officials, which make up the customer base, can show savings in the six-digit range. The sources from which these licences are acquired are among other things system changes, fusions or even insolvencies. It is approximated that there are currently unused software licences worth billions of dollars only in Germany. "Whereas just now is the time that no company can afford to tie up their capital inefficiently", said Schneider. More and more companies appear to be realising the advantages, that not only the purchase but also the sale of "used" licences can deliver. "The demand increases continuously", summarises Schneider.
