Data Processing, Data Processing Program
A data processing program certainly belongs to the core applications of companies of any size. The design possibilities of data processing programs have changed dramatically analogue to other types of software during the last two decades. Current text processing programs have no longer a lot to do with the pure text editors, which besides the usual text correction functions offered only a little more than typewriters.
Originally the scales of character sets as well as formatting options were rather limited but text processing programs such as Microsoft® Word have been able to import graphics and tables for a long time now. Extensive menus enable a variety of manipulations of text, soft copy and print.
Graphical user interfaces (GUI) have meanwhile become absolute standard.
Text processing programs can also be integrated into Office suites. Larger volumes which can be purchased in form of software licenses can result in considerable savings.
